Ensemble Leporello

ENSEMBLE LEPORELLO EXISTS 30 YEARS.

In 1985, Leporello’s first production “Herz und Schmerz” was created in the Ancienne Belgique, (Brussels). Under the artistic leadership of co-founder and helmsman Dirk Opstaele, Ensemble Leporello has produced some 40 plays - a play-list of more then 2000 venues. Still based in Brussels, the company employs now 30 actors, singers, dancers and/or musicians - for a repertoire of 10 titles. 

The REPERTOIRE 2015 is the incarnation of the typical style of Ensemble Leporello. Musicality, rhythm, wordplay, choreography and vocal orchestration are the characters of a text-in-the-large-sens. Independently from trends, and within a broad gamma of themes and texts, Leporello develops a pure form of living art. De physical presence of the actors is the primordial and sovereign vehicle of meaning. On an empty stage, the world is recreated by play.
